The DP4400 and DP4401 accept seven published pack options, and the spread is wider than most buyers expect: 6.7 hours analogue on the NiMH 1400 mAh against 25 hours digital on the IMPRES 2800 mAh, with a 90 g weight difference across the range. Read the table in two directions. Longest runtime is the IMPRES 2800 mAh at 23.5-25 h digital, and it is not the heaviest - the NiMH 1400 mAh is 40 g heavier and delivers less than half the digital runtime. NiMH is the pack to avoid on a new order: it is the legacy chemistry in this family, and it exists mainly so older fleets can keep a compatible option. Lightest is the IMPRES Slim 1650 mAh at 303 g with 11.3-11.8 h digital, which is the right choice where the radio is carried for a full shift but transmitted on intermittently - security patrol, hotel and event work.
Battery
The middle of the table is where most fleet decisions land, and two packs there deserve attention. IMPRES Hi-Cap 2250 mAh gives 16.2-17 h digital at 323 g, which covers a single long shift with margin and stays 10 g lighter than the standard Li-Ion 1400 mAh while carrying 850 mAh more - the clearest win in the range. IMPRES TIA4950 2500 mAh at 378 g is the pack tied to the intrinsically-safe configuration; if the site is classified, that certification constraint, not runtime, decides the pack. Two practical notes. First, these are published figures under a stated duty cycle, so a fleet that transmits continuously will see less; size spare packs against measured use, not the datasheet ceiling. Second, IMPRES packs and chargers exchange charge data, so mixing IMPRES packs with a non-IMPRES charger removes the conditioning the pack is designed around. If the fleet is IMPRES, keep the chargers IMPRES.
