Hytera HP605 vs HP685 vs HP705: Which One
On paper the three Hytera HP tiers look like the same radio at three prices: all 1024 channels, all IP68, all DMR. The differences that decide a fleet sit elsewhere - 265 g against 290 g, a 2100 mAh gap in optional pack size, 4 W against 5 W, and a published RF figure on one model against 'not published' on another. Here is what each step up actually buys, and where the spec sheet stops answering.

Hytera
Start with what the manufacturer does publish, because the gaps matter as much as the numbers. HP605 and HP685 publish no RF output, no channel spacing, no sensitivity and no selectivity. HP705 publishes all of them: 4 W UHF, 5 W VHF, 0.18 uV digital sensitivity, 0.16 uV analogue, 60/70 dB adjacent channel selectivity. If your tender requires a technical submittal with those lines filled, HP705 is the only one of the three you can answer with documentation. That is a procurement fact, not a performance claim - the other two may well transmit at a comparable level, but a buyer cannot certify what the vendor does not state.
HP605
For a fleet decision the useful axis is carried weight against shift length. HP605 at 265 g with a 2000 mAh pack is the lightest, and 20 h of digital runtime already covers a double shift without a spare. HP685 adds 15 g and 1 mm of depth for the same 2000 mAh baseline; the delta that justifies it is not in the published table, so ask the distributor what the tier changes in the RF front end before paying for it. HP705 sits on a taller, thinner body (132 x 29.5 mm) with a 2400 mAh standard pack, and it is the only one of the three with a published power figure and a wider operating range on the larger pack. One more line worth reading twice: HP605's datasheet says IP68 in the specification table and IP67 in the page highlight, and its MIL-STD line differs between the EN and EU pages. When a manufacturer's own pages disagree, quote the stricter figure in your submittal and note both. Do not let a reseller pick the flattering one for you.
